Please be advised that The Learning Center and First Presbyterian Church are now NUT FREE ZONES.
Since exposure to even a small amount of nut or nut products can cause a serious, life-threatening reaction to children with allergies, we are requiring that you not send your child to school with any food that contains tree nuts.
We realize that this may be an inconvenience, however, we must take the necessary precautions to provide a safe environment to all children.
We also request that if your child has eaten any nut products before school that their hands be cleaned thoroughly (with wipes or in a sink). We need to keep the toys and tables clear of nut traces, as this can also be harmful to children with severe allergies.
We appreciate your support in these policies and hope to provide information to you all to help make this transition a smooth one for your family. Please make sure you have a signed statement on file with the Kids’ Ministry Director stating you have read and understand the policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the TLC or FPC Kids’ Ministry Office.

We offer a wonderful childcare program on Sunday mornings during the worship hour. You may drop your child off before the service begins (around 10:40-10:50), and your child will be given an age-appropriate Bible story and lesson, with a take-home activity or suggestion to carry out through your week. Check our weekly Children’s News Bulletin for up-to-date information each week, including a Bible verse and Parent’s Corner. Our children’s ministry is richly blessed with experienced, knowledgeable and nurturing caregivers, who are always striving to learn more. We know it is reassuring for you and your little ones to see the same familiar faces each time you participate in an activity at the church.
Parenting in the Pew is all about children worshipping alongside their parents in the worship service together. Click the link above for more information.

Sunday school begins at 9:30 (with childcare workers available at 9:15) and ends at 10:30 (worship starts at 10:50). Look for an usher or friendly face in the hallway for helping finding a class that best fits you!

Crossings is our mid week Children’s program offered to children ages 3 up to 5th grade, each Wednesday during the school year in Hallelujah Hallway on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00. Join us for music, bible story, crafts, snacks and fellowship. This year at Crossings we will be using Explorer Journals to study Heroes of the Bible. Explorer Journals are a great way for kids to document their exploration of the Bible, by each week adding to their binder an activity, craft, journal entry or memory verse in a page protector. The binder will be stored at the church and sent home at the end of the year as a great keepsake and study material for your child to use. Register with Beth Barnard or in the church office and always invite your friends to join you! The more the merrier! Join us the third Wednesday of each month after Crossings for Family Night Supper in Fellowship Hall at 6pm. Congregational Life prepares a wonderful meal and it an amazing time to connect with other families and church members. All are welcome (reservations can be made at Crossings or in the church office by calling 940-767-2547 or email firstname.lastname@example.org).

We strive for the healthiest and most sanitary environment for your children in our care. Disinfecting toys, using plastic gloves for diaper changes and sterilizing changing pads after each use are just a few of the practices we use to assure your child has a safe and clean environment. For the protection of your child and other children, parents are required to not leave a child in our care that appears ill (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. within the last 24 hours). We have medically fragile children in our congregation who it is imperative steer clear of illness. Thank you for your understanding.
Safety and Security
Your child’s safety is our number one priority. Please always remember to sign your child in and out of childcare rooms, leaving a phone number so that we may call or text if needed. If someone else will be picking your child up (a grandparent or friend) please alert the caregiver.
